Parker's Pals serves at RMH

Parker's Pals served our first of, hopefully many, meals to the Ronald McDonald House in Orlando yesterday.  Thank you so much to Girl Scout Troop 833 for helping us serve, and a huge thank you to Sonny's BBQ for catering the meal for us.  A great group of people made the desserts and brought drinks...thank you!!  We could not have done this without the help from everyone.

It was very different being on the opposite side of the counter serving a meal to the many families staying at RMH.  We brought Payton with us to teach her about "giving back".  It's a difficult concept for a 6 year old, but when we explained that this was how we ate for 9 months...she got it.  She was very proud to open the door for the families as they came into the kitchen.

At one point a dad came up and expressed his gratitude.  He told us that they had been there for a week now.  His daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and eating this meal was the first time that she has smiled since they've been there.  This is why we do what we do!!  Thank you!!
