Another Meal Served

Parker's Pals served up another meal at the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday.  There were so many families there and I was so grateful to provide them with warm meal.  It was actually just Aaron, myself and the girls that were there - so Payton was able to take a larger part.  She helped serve and wiped of all the tables.

Please let us know if you would be interested in providing food or serving for our next meal.

2nd Annual Auction Recap

Wow!  What a great weekend Parker's Pals had!  Our first annual golf classic was a huge success and a phenomenal time was had by all!  Thank you so much to all of our fabulous golfers and sponsors (and our token "ladies team"!).  Also, thank you to those that helped run registration, take photos, and the various other tasks that kept the day going!  A special thank you to Lonnie Coggins, the "Master Golf Tourny Planner"!  You took it on and what an outstanding job you did...we're so grateful to you!

After such a great day on Friday, it was only fitting that we step right into a wonderful event on Saturday!  Parker's Pals 2nd Annual Spring Auction was excellent!  Throughout the evening, around 140 people browsed awesome items, ate yummy food and mingled with friends.  It was such a blessing to see how much support we had.  There are so many wonderful people around us and the evening went off without a hitch.  Our sincerest thanks goes out to all of our attendees and those many people that were behind the scenes helping to keep things running!  With your support we raised over $14,000!  What a great way to begin another year of ministry to precious little ones battling cancer.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  We look forward to next year's auction and golf classic...our wheels are already turning so stay tuned!!!  God bless you all!  ~ Lisa Mears

1st Annual Golf Recap
The 1st Annual Parker’s Pal Golf Classic brought together 60 of the area’s finest – and not so finest – golfers on an exceptional day at an exceptional facility.  The host venue for this year’s tournament was Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand, FL, the #10 Ranked Course You Can Play in the state of Florida.  Lunch was provided as players and volunteers arrived by Chick-Fil-A in Orange City compliments of Jamey Vance.  As the golfer prepared for the shotgun start, three lucky individuals were given the opportunity to make one putt for $1,000.  Stephen All, Sean Ryan and Tracy Simonds all missed the putt but walked away with a free foursome of golf for their efforts.  Tracy Simonds came back from her close call on the long putt contest to win the Ladies Long Drive Contest taking home a Puma Stand bag, Precept Golf Balls and a 4 More Yards Golf Tee.  The Men’s Long Drive Contest was won by Bruce Freund with an absolute bomb on Hole #9.  He won a new Cleveland CG10 Wedge along with Bridgestone Golf Balls and a 4 More Yards Golf Tee.  The Ladies Closest to the Pin was won by Linda Ryan who collected a Puma Handbag, Precept Golf Balls and 4 More Yards Golf Tee for knocking it stiff on  Hole #11.  For the Men, Steve Costa placed his tee shot to 8” on Hole #11 and was rewarded with a Nickent Hybrid for his efforts.

The Top 3 Finishers in the scramble were as follows:
1.       Arnold Palmer Hospital Team – Wes Bishop, Randy Christopher, Rod Moss, Dillon Muto
2.       Bruce Fruend, George Hnat, Walt Hnat, Aaron Hundley
3.       Tom Bellomo, Bob Nipper, Jack Wilson, John Wisham

The Golf Classic was a huge success and we want to thank all of the players, sponsors and volunteers for their generosity in supporting the mission of Parker’s Pals.  Next year’s tournament will be even bigger so if you missed out this year, commit now to joining us in 2010!
